The need for pedagogical professionals in Frankfurt am Main – a growing and young city – is dramatic. Migrant pedagogical professionals could help, if they were granted access to the job field.
beramí berufliche Integration e.V. and Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (FRA-UAS) invited the municipal politicians Sarah Sorge, Dezernentin für Bildung und Frauen, and Dr. Nargess Eskandari-Grünberg, Dezernentin für Integration, to discuss this topic with an audience of professional experts. There was a scientific input by Prof. Dr. Ute Schaich, FRA-UAS.

Mehr Bock auf Politik – Mehr Mut zum Gestalten
In the mood for politics – Dare to make a difference

Festive final event of the first round – with more than 30 mentors and mentees

Speaking for the 16 mentees and their mentors – politically active on communal or federal level –, Stadtverordnetenvorsteher Stephan Siegler talked about the richness of his experiences within the last year. Five mentees presented their work on a political subject and the output – a political action – they developed: For instance, a discussion round on subtle discrimination, a demonstration with political claims on posters, and a photo exhibition with experience reports by Au Pairs. During their year of participation in the project, the mentees gained a lot of new experiences, information, knowledge and contacts. “Three years ago I hardly would have known how to get involved or whom to ask in order to get support for the planning and implementation of a political action. By now, I have made great progress and am more confident to act”, says Elene, student of politics from Georgia. Asked about his plans for the next round of the project, mentor Stephan Siegler says: “I’ve already signed up to participate again.”

The new round of the project starts in February, 2016.
The project is implemented in cooperation with infrau e. V.

Storytelling cafe with a father and his daughters of Kurdish-Turkish origin

In the framework of the “Intercultural weeks Frankfurt” , a father remembers and discusses with his daughters at beramí. The event is part of „Aktionsplan Gleichstellung Frankfurt wird gerechter“ of the city of Frankfurt, coordinated by Frauenreferat Frankfurt.
