Since 2012, beramí is part of the Hessian network IQ (Hessisches Landesnetzwerk IQ) on the topic of recognition of foreign professional and educational qualifications. Within this framework, beramí offers counceling on the recognition of foreign qualifications (Anerkennungsberatung), counceling on additional qualification in Germany, and SensiBer: a training for employees of the Jobcentre Frankfurt on the topic of language-sensitive counselling.
The main interest during the programming period 2012 was the establishment of the new Anerkennungsgesetz (recognition act, 1st April 2012). beramí carried out trainings for counsellors working for Hessian labour market actors (jobcentres, labour agencies), social agencies like migrant advice centres, migrant youth service, and others interested in the subject of recognition or the new recognition act.
Furthermore, the “Leitfaden zur Anerkennung von ausländischen Schul- und Berufsabschlüssen in Hessen” (“Guide for the recognition of foreign school and professional qualifications in Hesse”) – originally edited by beramí in 2008 – was revised according to the new recognition act. It was supplemented with a listing of the most important referential professions and authorities in charge of the acknowledgment process.
